Matrix Calculator
A blank line separates the two matrices - one row per line, elements split by comma, space or tab. Single-matrix operations (transpose, determinant, inverse, rank, trace) use the first matrix.

Introduction to the tool and how to use it

An online matrix toolkit that computes matrix multiplication, addition, transpose, determinant, inverse, rank and trace from a single input box, returning both a result table and plain text you can copy or export as CSV.

Input format:
1. Separate the two matrices with a blank line;
2. Write one row vector per line and split elements with commas, spaces or tabs, for example:
1,2
3,4

5,6
7,8

3. For single-matrix operations (transpose, determinant, inverse, rank, trace) only the first matrix is needed; multiplication and addition need the second one and will show "Second matrix not provided" instead of failing.

Supported operations: matrix multiplication A×B, matrix addition A+B, transpose A^T, determinant |A|, inverse A^-1, rank rank(A) and trace tr(A). Pick "All results" to compute everything at once or a single operation only.

Algorithms and precision: the determinant uses LU decomposition with partial pivoting, the inverse uses Gauss-Jordan elimination and the rank counts non-zero rows after elimination. Singular matrices are reported as "Not invertible (determinant is 0)" and Infinity or NaN is never printed. Results are rounded to the chosen number of decimals with trailing zeros removed, and -0 is shown as 0.

Limits: each matrix dimension up to 12, 288 elements in total and 15 digits per element, with a clear message when exceeded.
